Here history and modernity go hand in hand; culture and art from antiquity to now a days thrive in a colorful variety of shapes, styles and colors.

THE OLD TOWN

After a panoramic bus tour of modern Plovdiv, we descend in the old town. The archaeological reserve “The Old Town of Plovdiv” attracts many tourists and preserves the past of the city: historical and cultural monuments, cobbled streets. Here is the old Roman amphitheater, built by Mark Avreliy, which is the best preserved monument of that time in our country. Immerse yourself in the magic of Plovdiv’s Old Town – architecture, museums and art galleries!

Unique, ancient, wonderful, artistic, spiritual and challenging is the Plovdiv of today.

LUNCH

After the walk through the old town of Plovdiv we will sit down to eat in the unique restaurant “Hebros”,inside a Renaissance house, built more than 200 years ago by a rich merchant of textiles and furs.

The restaurant “Hebros” has won the award “Restaurant of the Year 2003” of “Bacchus” magazine, and remains one of the best in the country. The menu includes dishes of Bulgarian and international cuisine, prepared with fresh products according to the season. THE MODERN PLOVDIV

After lunch, we will take a walk along the longest pedestrian street in Europe – “Knyaz Alexander I”, called “The Principal” (1.8 kilometers long). Much of the houses on the street today are cultural monuments. They were built at the beginning of the 20th century. Its architecture has elements of classicism, secession and postmodernism. Here you will find theaters, galleries, shops, cafes and some of the attractions in the city. Walking through “The Principal” we will arrive at the modern center of Plovdiv, where our bus will wait for us.

THE WINERY BESSA VALLEY

Our next stop will be the “Bessa Valley” winery. 3500 years ago, this was the Valley of the Besi, the most recalcitrant Thracians, who kept and served in the sanctuary of the God of Wine, Dionysius, because they were considered to be the most competent In the rites to worship him. After the Great Migration the blood in the valley changes, here comes other people. The wine remains. It is glorified in the bard ballads of the West and in the poet verses of the East.

The vintners of the Valley are inspired by this place, as were inspired by it the besi 3500 years ago. Now they are the besi! They are destined to grow the vines of the Valley and to create a great wine out of their fruits year after year. Everything they do, they do it with respect to nature, people, vines and their fruit. They take their time. They do not lose harmony.

In the valley of Besi we will enjoy the taste of Enira wine.

We will visit the winery and see the process of wine production. After that we will taste different wines and varieties with a professional sommelier.

END OF THE EXCURSION – around 19:00 we will be at the hotel.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
